Captain Marvel is one of Marvel’s first superheroes. Carol Danvers has been a hero for a very long time, using various aliases before taking on the name of her mentor Mar-Vell. Since then, she has become one of the greatest heroes on Earth and beyond, defending humanity from all threats. She’s the complete package – fast, strong and skilled. Even foes more powerful than her will fall to Captain Marvel’s might in direct combat.
DC’s heroes are some of the most powerful around, defending their multiverse against the deadliest foes. While she couldn’t beat them all, some of DC’s mightiest heroes would fall to Captain Marvel.
ten Impulse’s speed is too one-dimensional to defeat Captain Marvel
Impulse has spent years stepping out of the shadows of its mentors. Born with the Speed Force, Barry Allen’s grandson from the future came into play for Young Justice and the Teen Titans, even acting as the Flash for the time. Impulse’s Speed Force powers make him quite fearsome, but that won’t be enough to beat Captain Marvel.
Cap has a small speed advantage over Impulse, but that usually wouldn’t matter. However, Impulse cannot fly, which means Captain Marvel can circle around him and blast him with powerful cosmic blasts. He might dodge for a while, but she’ll connect sooner or later.
9 Donna Troy has no long range attacks to match the good captain
Donna Troy is one of the most talented fighters in the DC Universe. As an Amazonian, she is also quite strong and fast, with the added ability of flight. She is well-armed and experienced, helping her Titans teammates with some of the toughest enemies. She’s as good alone as she is in a group, but her attack alone won’t be enough to beat Captain Marvel.
The two are equivalent in many ways, but Cap’s cosmic energy abilities are going to make all the difference. She can hit Donna from long range while Donna has to get close. This is going to make things pretty easy for Captain Marvel.
8 Conner Kent is stronger but Captain Marvel would play him like a fiddle
Conner Kent has come a long way since his debut. He grew in power and experience, helping found Young Justice and joining the Teen Titans. He’s not as powerful as Superman, but he can be a devastating opponent to anyone he faces. He’s also a bit impulsive and easy to manipulate, which will give Captain Marvel the edge.
Conner is definitely stronger than Cap, but she’s faster and her cosmic energy powers are far more powerful than her heat vision. On top of that, his energy absorbing abilities would allow him to drain him of the energy that powers him. Superman would know how to handle this, but Conner wouldn’t, and that would give Captain Marvel the win.
7 Starfire and Captain Marvel would have an epic dogfight
Starfire is one of the most powerful Teen Titans of all time. She is also a Tamaranian warrior princess, which gives her an edge over many enemies she has faced over the years. Starfire and Captain Marvel are an intriguing match. Cap has most of the advantages in combat, but Starfire’s means will keep her in the fight much longer than most would expect.
Starfire is a smart cookie, so she’ll keep Cap moving, never letting her get close enough to unload with her greatest strength or charge in for a super powerful strike. It would be a battle of attrition, a battle that the mightiest Captain Marvel would eventually win.
6 Kilowog Wouldn’t Be Able To Withstand Captain Marvel’s Might
Kilowog is the toughest drill instructor in the Green Lantern Corps and one of the most physically strong beings in the Corps. His ring builds are always powerful and well thought out. Even without his ring, he is a formidable opponent. This is going to be on trial against Captain Marvel, who might drain his power ring.
Of all the Green Lanterns, Kilowog is the only one to challenge Cap due to his physical strength. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t be that hard, because he can’t fly without the ring. He’s going to have a hard time dealing with Cap, as she holds all the offensive cards.
5 Cyborg Weapons Would Barely Match Captain Marvel
Cyborg has changed a lot over the years, getting major updates. He’s a lot more powerful than he’s ever been, but that won’t give him the edge he’ll need to defeat Captain Marvel. He can match his mobility in all sorts of ways, but the problem is going to be in the long-range game. It will take a lot for Cyborg to hurt her, and with his energy-absorbing abilities, most of his weapons are out of place.
At this point, he is reduced to fighting with her, but she still has all of her powers. She can hit him from long range, and he has no answer for that. This is not a fight Cyborg can win.
4 Atom Smasher’s Limited Offense Won’t Make A Difference
Atom Smasher is one of the strongest members of the Justice Society. His super strength and growth powers make him one of the team’s most titanic presences on the battlefield, taking on many foes. Atom Smasher can be a devastating hero, but Captain Marvel is too multifaceted for him.
There’s a reason Atom Smasher works with teams; he’s strong, but that’s it, and the more he grows, the more important he is a target. This will allow Captain Marvel to whittle it down quite easily. She can make sure he never touches her while casting him into oblivion.
3 Big Barda Would Challenge Captain Marvel, But She Won’t Win
Big Barda made a name for themselves as the most fearsome of the Female Furies, one of Darkseid’s most powerful elite groups. Since then, she’s worked with some of today’s biggest heroes, most notably within the Justice League. She’s a strong and experienced soldier, and she’s definitely stronger and more durable than Captain Marvel. Her biggest disadvantage against Cap is that she can’t fly.
If Barda could match Captain Marvel’s mobility, she’d make ground meat with the Avenger, even without an equivalent long-range attack. Since she can’t, Cap will be able to outwit her and outgun her, which will cost Barda the battle.
2 Mister Miracle would hold out for a while, but he couldn’t win
Mister Miracle is the greatest escape artist in all three worlds. Big Barda’s husband, since he escaped Apokolips with her, he became one of New Genesis’ greatest soldiers. He’s not the most powerful of the New Gods, but he’s one of the most resourceful, which has served him well. He’s going to give Captain Marvel a hard time, but it won’t save him.
Mister Miracle’s mother box and aero discs will aid him in the fight, and his cunning would allow him to stay ahead of Cap for quite some time. Eventually Miracle’s luck would run out and Captain Marvel would mark him hard enough to slow him down. Once that happens, the fight is over.
1 Wonder Woman’s Lack Of Long Range Offense Would Be Her Undoing
Wonder Woman is one of DC’s greatest heroines. She is one of the most skilled warriors around and has faced threats that would freeze the blood of even the bravest heart. She’s basically everything Captain Marvel wishes her to be and is her superior strength, durability, and skill set. Unfortunately for Diana, Cap is faster and has better long-range options, which will win her the fight.
The two would certainly have an epic battle. Wonder Woman may be outdated, but she won’t make Captain Marvel’s job any easier. Both women are very smart fighters, but in this case Cap just has to stay away from Diana and blast her. With its greater speed, it will be child’s play.
