In the World Test Championship table, Australia currently sits second with a winning percentage of 86.66, while Pakistan sits third with a winning percentage of 75.

Australia’s 4-0 win over England in the Ashes Test series is the first feather in skipper Pat Cummins’ hat. He was named Australia captain ahead of the Ashes series and a landslide victory will only lift his spirits. The skipper only played four Tests in the series but had scalped 21 wickets in the process, to become the highest wicket taker. Cummins will then lead the team in Pakistan in March, and he would like to continue the winning streak. However, the challenge is not easy as the grounds of the subcontinent have always been a nightmare for teams touring outside of Asia.

After 1998, this is the first time the Australian team has toured Pakistan and no doubt the visitors will have a tough job to do when it comes to adapting to the conditions. Crucially, there will be points up for grabs for both teams if they aim to reach the Test World Championship final. When it comes to the World Test Championship table, Australia currently sits second with a winning percentage of 86.66, while Pakistan sits third with a winning percentage of 75.

In a chat with Cricket Pakistan, Cummins expressed his desire to make Australia the best team in the world by performing in subcontinent conditions or touring nations. The skipper noted that his players don’t have much experience in overseas conditions, so he’s excited for the challenge. “That’s the next big challenge. I think the best teams of the past not only won at home, but they also did very well abroad. Pakistan is next on the radar for us, it’s going to be huge,” he said.

On the tour, Australia and Pakistan lock horns for three Tests, three ODIs and a T20 international, from March 3 to April 5.
