In a new preview of Marvel’s Captain America: Symbol of Truth, Sam Wilson meets none other than Deadpool, the Merc with the Mouth himself.
Warning! Contains an overview of Captain America: Symbol of Truth #2
A new insight for Captain America: Symbol of Truth sees Marvel’s new Captain America join forces with none other than dead Pool. While Wade Wilson has teamed up with the original Captain America in previous comics, this new issue will mark his first major team-up with Sam Wilson. As such, it should prove to be a wild ride, even if Sam Wilson is tasked with forging a relationship with Marvel’s most irritating anti-hero.
Previously on New Marvel Captain America: Symbol of Truth series by Tochi Onyebuchi and RB Silva, Captain America by Sam Wilson and Falcon by Joaquín Torres have found a very particular train. Thanks to a lead from Misty Knight, they were told that this train was smuggling a chemical component used to make the OG Captain America’s Super-Soldier serum. However, the train was instead filled with migrants who were attacked by anonymous soldiers.
Now the new preview of Captain America: Symbol of Truth #2 sees Sam Wilson continue his research in Latvia, hoping to uncover Super-Soldier chemicals being sold on the black market. Captain America instead finds Deadpool captured and suspended by a group of armed thugs. As such, it looks like Sam and Deadpool will have an impromptu team up with the Merc with the Mouth containing valuable information Cap will need to continue his mission. Here are the preview pages and synopsis for the next issue:
CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH #2 – HOMELAND, PART 2After thwarting a train robbery with mysterious connections to the Super-Soldier Serum, Sam Wilson needs information. Unfortunately, the person he needs information from is Deadpool. Who is in jail. In Latvia. Nobody said taking back the shield would be easy…
While it’s been established in past comics that Deadpool has great respect for the original Captain America, it’ll be interesting to see how Wade gets along with Sam Wilson. While he will no doubt be as infuriating as ever, chances are Deadpool will still be a valuable ally in spite of himself. He probably has important information about the Super-Soldier Serum and who is behind this new conspiracy.
Either way, Deadpool and Captain America joining forces is certainly an exciting way to kick off Sam Wilson’s return to the mantle of Captain America, wielding the shield once again in the Marvel Universe. Clearly, a major conspiracy is afoot involving the Super-Soldier Serum as well as the Black Panther villain known as White Wolf (teased at the end of issue one). Whereas Captain America not yet aware of the potential involvement of the White Wolf and Wakanda, perhaps dead Pool can help connect those dots when the full issue comes out on June 29.
