Captain America Joins the Fight in New Marvel’s Midnight Suns Preview

Steve Rogers isn’t usually a character we expect to see fighting alongside the Midnight Suns. Either way, the mystical heroes of the Marvel Universe will need all the help they can get to take on Lilith in Firaxis and 2K’s next video game adventure. That’s why Captain America officially joins the ranks of the team in Marvel’s Midnight Suns Later this year. And thanks to new gameplay footage, we’ve got a fresh look at Cap’s new costume.

The character’s new costume is a far cry from the red, white, and blue star costume he usually wears. But since midnight suns presents a much darker story than, say, Marvel’s Avengers, it makes sense that Steve would change up his wardrobe a bit. Similar to his other video game appearances, Cap’s control emphasizes shield combat, allowing players to hit multiple targets at once. But judging by the glowing runes surrounding its blazing star, the shield appears to have additional powers this time around, which should come in handy when its cap crushes Hydra agents who seem to have fallen under Lilith’s spell.

In addition, midnight suns Creative lead Jake Solomon has shared new details about the game in a new interview with PC Gamer (via GamesRadar+). Specifically, he was asked if the Darkhold’s inclusion in the campaign was influenced by his recent live appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But Solomon says it was a “genuine surprise” to see the book on the big screen this summer. He also hinted that the game also features a “good” and “evil” version of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. However, midnight sunsDoctor Strange’s version will be “more difficult” than its MCU counterpart.

“In the Midnight Sons comic book series that this game is inspired by, Doctor Strange always showed up and wore this amazing cape,” said. Solomon. “He would say, ‘I could stop it, but if I did, the force of my energies would tear the universe apart. Good luck!’ And then it would fly away, and you’d be like, ‘OK, Doctor Strange.’ »

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 7. The game will also be released for Nintendo Switch at a later date.
