The daughter of late fundraiser Captain Sir Tom Moore, who helped set up the charity that bears his name, has been removed from the list of speakers at a national volunteering conference due to concerns regarding an ongoing Charity Commission case.
Hannah Ingram-Moore was due to deliver a keynote speech at Volunteer Expo Live, an annual two-day event taking place in Birmingham next month. His appearance was first announced earlier this year.

Volunteer Expo Live has not made a public announcement about the decision, but event website pages promoting his appearance have been removed.
Captain Sir Tom Moore raised more than £33million for NHS Charities Together by walking laps of his garden during the first national Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. The 100-year-old military veteran died last year.
The charity set up in his honor came under heavy criticism after the publication of its first annual accounts, which revealed that the Captain Tom Foundation had engaged with three separate regulators – the Information Commissioners Office and the fundraising regulator as well as the Charity Commission – in its first year. .
Accounts also showed that more than £50,000 of charitable funds raised by the foundation had been repaid to companies controlled by Ingram-Moore and her husband.
The Independent later revealed that Ingram-Moore approached the Charity Commission to appoint herself as chief executive of the foundation, with a potential six-figure salary. The committee rejected the proposal.
The charity announced in February that it was postponing Captain Tom’s one-day plans until the regulator’s case was completed.
Ingram-Moore said at the time that the planned fundraising day should not take place until “the commission works with us and examines [the charity’s governance and finances]”.
A spokesperson for Volunteer Expo Live said: ‘Volunteer Expo organizers have recently made the decision that, while the engagement is ongoing between the Charity Commission and the Captain Tom Foundation, it would not be appropriate for Hannah Ingram. -Moore to speak at the event. in May.”
A spokesperson for the Captain Tom Foundation said Ingram-Moore “is spending her time elsewhere at the moment” and stressed that she is taking time to focus on her family and the foundation.
