During a recent appearance on LADbible TV’s “Agreeing to Disagree,” Chris Evans was asked if he thinks Captain America has the best costume of all the Avengers. “It’s the suit for him, and it works for him,” the actor explained. “But, if we compare ourselves to all the Avengers, let’s be honest, it’s not the best. I mean, shit, they’re all better than mine, whether it’s Scarlett [Johansson]whether it be [Chris] Hemsworth, let it be Tom Holland…” Considering Evans wore the costume for eight years, his apparent disdain for its design (at least compared to the rest of his co-stars) is downright hilarious, especially because this costume is now worn by a second Captain America: Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).
To say that every other Avenger has a better costume than Captain America might be an overstatement on Evans’ part – especially considering that Hulk’s (Mark Ruffalo) full costume is just pants. Still, his comments really make it seem like he’s had many strong opinions about his suits over the years. Indeed, Cap’s goofy costume in ‘The Avengers’ was the butt of a lot of jokes during the time travel scene in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, so it seems Evans isn’t the only Marvel alum to have thoughts on Cap’s costume.
Either way, the fact remains that Captain America’s costume is one of the most iconic costumes in the MCU. Now that it has been passed on to a new owner, it will be that way for years to come.
