Cricket fraternity praise Rohit Sharma captaincy

Former India Test opener Wasim Jaffer praised Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in typical fashion as he shared a meme from Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa to explain his record in the tests. Since the hitman took over as full-time captain, he has recorded five Test series wins without losing a game.

Under his watch, Team India beat New Zealand 3-0 in the T20I series before recording 3-0 wins over West Indies in the ODI and T20I formats. Rohit’s last wins as captain came against Sri Lanka, where he brilliantly led the national team to 3-0 and 2-0 wins in the T20I and Tests series respectively.

Meanwhile, some more praise for Rohit’s outstanding captaincy can be seen below.

VVS Laxman praised Shreyas Iyer and Pant

Legendary Indian hitter VVS Laxman hailed the team’s “clinical” performance to win the series. The 47-year-old was delighted to see performances from Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Iyer scored 92 and 67 runs respectively over the two innings, while Pant hit the fastest Test fifty in India’s history. The wicketkeeper’s half-century ended with just 28 deliveries, in an innings that included seven fours and two sixes.

Meanwhile, several other accolades for the team can be seen below.

Following a brilliant performance in the second test, Iyer was voted player of the match. Meanwhile, Pant’s record contributions in both Tests helped the wicketkeeper win the Player of the Series award. Following the win over Sri Lanka at home, India end the 2021/22 home season unbeaten. They have recorded three out of four wins in the Tests (1D), three out of three wins in the ODIs and nine out of nine wins in the T20Is.
