Doctor Doom gives Captain America — and Deadpool?! – an ominous warning about entering Latveria in a preview of Captain America: Symbol of Truth #3.

A preview for Marvel Captain America: Symbol of Truth #3 sees Doctor Doom threatening Captain America and his temporary companion, Deadpool.
Captain America: Symbol of Truth #3 comes from writer Tochi Onyebuchi, artists RB Silva and Zé Carlos, colorist artist Jesus Aburtov, and letterer VC Joe Caramagna. In a preview of the issue provided by Marvel, Captain America and Deadpool break into Latveria in an attempt to see if illegal contraband – potentially Vibranium – is crossing into the land ruled by Doom.
Doom quickly attempts to quell the rumors, claiming that the smugglers encountered by Captain America were carrying food and other supplies instead of Vibranium. “Humanitarian supplies are cut off due to sanctions imposed by the country you represent: the United States,” Doom said. As Captain America tries to get more answers, Doom sends them back with an ominous threat. “I will free you, Captain America, but with a message for your government. The next illegal incursion into Latveria will be answered.”
Captain America and Deadpool crossed paths Captain America: Symbol of Truth #2. In the issue, Captain America travels to Latveria to ask the imprisoned Deadpool some questions about the smuggling operation he initially believed revolved around the Super-Soldier Serum. After freeing the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool reveals he’s been following similar leads, but believes the smugglers are dealing with Vibranium weapons. The two nearly manage to escape Latveria before Doom stops them in their traps.
The synopsis for Captain America: Symbol of Truth #3 reads: ‘ON THE LATVIA TRIAL! Sam Wilson’s hunt for the source of a Vibranium smuggling ring lands him in hot water with the one and only DOCTOR DOOM! Can Captain America escape Latveria with his life? And what dangerous secret has the Falcon, Joaquín Torres, who stumbled upon in his own hometown?”
Solicitation information for Captain America: Symbol of Truth #4 suggests that Captain America and Deadpool’s Vibranium smuggling theory might be correct, as Sam Wilson is set to travel to Wakanda for further information. The synopsis reads: “Sam Wilson uncovers a plot that poses an imminent threat to the United States and Wakanda – but Wakanda doesn’t want to play ball with Captain America. Faced with an impossible decision, Sam tries to do what is best for both countries. But will his gamble pay off or cost him dearly? And what stake do the elusive White Wolf and his ally Crossbones have in the outcome?
Captain America: Symbol of Truth #3 features a cover by RB Silva and Jesus Aburtov and a variant cover by Nick Bradshaw, Rachelle Rosenberg, and John Tyler Christopher. The issue comes out July 27 from Marvel.
