RNothing says that his efforts for peace in Ukraine will pay off. Rather. Vladimir Putin’s appearance on Russian television this Monday evening could signal his failure. The French president did not wait for it to be over to convene a Security Council in Elise. But at least no one can blame the French head of state for trying to keep the peace. Back Monday morning, after several weeks in the diplomatic arena, Emmanuel Macron was still optimistic about holding a final summit between the White House tenant and the Kremlin summit. This was before the latter spoke of a “preconceived” idea and rained hope.
