The closing and awarding ceremony of the “6th Anwar Steel-Anwar Cement Captain Cup-2022 Golf Tournament” was held at Golf Garden of Army Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment on Saturday.
Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. SM Shafiuddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest on the occasion, said a press release issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate.
Among others, Bangladesh Army Adjutant General and Chairman of Army Golf Club, Major General Md Moshfequr Rahman, Group Chairman Anwar Manwar Hossain, Chairman of Golf Club Tournament Committee of the Army, Brigadier General Shah-Noor Jilani (Retired), Director General Brig Syed Ahmed Ali (Retired), Director of the Army Golf Club (Sports and Facilities) and Member Secretary, Lt. -Colonel Md Ghulam Manzoor Siddiqui and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The four-day tournament, which kicked off on Wednesday, was held in five categories for amateur golfers. The categories are Senior, Junior, Regular, Ladies and Veteran. A total of 716 players participated in the tournament. Among them, several foreign players.
Lt. Col. Golam Mortuza became the overall champion of the tournament. Veteran winner Hayatuzzaman Khan, senior Col AKM winner Nazrul Islam (retired), winner Kulsoom Farid and junior Master SM winner Samir Hussain were also honored.
