Jeff Pratt:
First off, this should be the game that Draymond Green gets kicked out of. He should have been ejected last game, we saw this clip of him pretty much swinging at Tatum’s head for the rebound, so who knows, we’ll see that.
But when it comes to a captain, you obviously have the big three of Curry, Tatum, and Brown, and I like to pick the cheapest to captain tonight in Jaylen at $14.7,000. He actually edged out Tatum by a significant margin in my opinion throughout the first three games of this series. He racked up over 45 DK fantasy points in two of the three finals games, and he used that opportunity to handle a lot of the scoring load with Tatum really struggling to shoot and just focusing on the report. So Jaylen, he was really fired up by the crowd, he and Marcus Smart were the two players who fed off that energy the most in Game 3. I can’t see any way he’s not shooting again tonight.
Matt Meiselman:
It’s hard because I mean Jayson Tatum. I think Brown is a good choice, but these players are quite expensive and this roster is also lacking in cheap players to the point where it becomes difficult to fit in if you use expensive options.
So I kind of want to go back to Robert Williams and play him as captain. And then it allows you the salary flexibility to play with more expensive guys. If Williams is healthy, he’s a fantastic monster, at least sometimes, with four blocks and three steals last game. He took a bunch of minutes from Al Horford on the stretch, which I don’t think anyone would have expected to come into this series, where Horford had a sin drop coverage problem, falling too far from Steph Curry and not having the athleticism to recover there. That’s not really the thing Horford can excel at, Robert Williams is much more athletic.
Maybe the knee is a problem, and that’s why I say this with some hesitation, but if Williams is healthy, he’s going to have to play big minutes in this series and probably continue to take some away from Horford because that he’s so much better for at least this scheme in terms of Steph’s containment. He works better as a center than Horford from a defensive standpoint.
I think it will depend on whether the Celtics have a lead or not, but I think if they’re in place you’ll see a lot more Robert Williams. Maybe if they go down they don’t need him as much but as someone who expects the Celtics to play well tonight I think Robert Williams is still seeing some really big minutes . They have a few extra days off after this game. So I think they’re trying to push it and really do everything they can to win this one, because the Celtics know the narrative, they don’t want to see the Warriors come back from that loss and even go up the streak, and a big part of that is going to be Robert Williams.
Matt’s Pick: Robert Williams ($9,300 CP)
Jeff’s Pick: Jaylen Brown ($14,700 CP)
