George Ford has been recalled by England to fill the void left by Owen Farrell’s injury – and will join the national team for their training camp in Brighton this week.
The 28-year-old Leicester fly-half has been widely hailed as the country’s number 10 this season, but he was not chosen by Eddie Jones for autumn testing at Twickenham.
The head coach also omitted it last week when he named 36 players to prepare for the Six Nations.

The highly experienced fly-half of 77 Ford caps was initially left out by England boss Eddie Jones
While there was no room for Ford, Bath rookie Orlando Bailey was included, along with Marcus Smith – England’s main playmaker in November’s successful campaign.
However, there was a dramatic twist, following the news that Red Rose captain Farrell suffered an injury at the training ground at Saracens.
With the Test centurion in danger of missing out on the entire championship after reportedly injuring his right ankle, Ford was given the chance to relaunch his international career.

sports mail understands the 77-cap veteran has been called up to the Brighton camp and his return is expected to be officially confirmed by the RFU on Monday.
England also need to name a replacement captain and Courtney Lawes is expected to fill that role, as he did impressively in autumn wins over Tonga and South Africa.
While Ford’s presence will create competition for Smith, the Quins wonderkid remains destined to wear England’s No.10 shirt for the Six Nations opener against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 5.
