Indian star fly-half KL Rahul has dissected the captaincy styles of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma while highlighting how he evolved as a whistle player playing under Indian skippers.
Rahul also mentioned the calm and composed nature of former India skipper MS Dhoni and said that to be a good leader you need to have the qualities of all these players (Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit).

“It’s an absolute privilege and honor to share the dressing room with legends like MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and to play under them. There’s so much I’ve learned. I’ve grown so much in as a player and as an individual,” Rahul said at the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2021-22 here on Friday.
“Each of them had a different quality that stood out. If you think of MS Dhoni, you think of his calm and collected nature. If you think of Kohli, you remember the passion and aggression that he brings to the game. Rohit is tactically very good.
“For a good leader, you have to have all those qualities, but also try to be true to yourself and give your instincts a chance,” he added.

As the IPL kicked off on Saturday, KL Rahul is gearing up to lead new team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the cash-rich league.
“I don’t think you can dive into leadership without any preparation. This forces you to spend a lot of time with your teammates to make sure they know their responsibility. You put in the hours in training and tick all the boxes and you give yourself the best chance of being ready for the game,” Rahul said.
“The results are not in our control. If our heart and mind are in the right place, results will most often follow. We always put the team in front of us,” he added.
