A minute’s silence will be observed at the Stadio Olimpico before the match kicks off.

He began his playing career with lower league side Internapoli in the mid-1960s, before moving to Lazio in 1969. Icon Giorgio Chinaglia was a mainstay throughout Wilson’s professional tenure, as the duo helped Lazio secure promotion from Serie B in 1972 and two years. then helped oust Juventus by two points to win the club’s historic first Shield championship.

Although Wilson’s career ended in controversy with the ‘Totonero’ match-fixing scandal which led to the relegation of Milan and Lazio to the lower tier, his footballing legacy as the first Lazio captain to win the Scudetto will forever remain in the hearts of the Fidèles Biancocelesti.

He appeared three times for Italy, including two at the 1974 FIFA World Cup. Besides, he recorded over 300 caps for the sky-blue side of the Roman division.
