After scoring 169 for seven after a disastrous start, LSG stopped SRH at 157 for nine.
Winning matches like these will give LSG a lot of confidence, and Rahul spoke about that during the post-match presentation.

“The nice thing is that we found a way to stay in the game and give ourselves a good chance to win. We did it again today,” Rahul said.
While pacemaker Avesh Khan (4 for 24) shone with the ball, Rahul and Deepak Hooda did most of the scoring for LSG.
“It’s not ideal to lose three wickets early, but we have to give ourselves some time because we are batting deep and we have power in the death. It’s something we need to learn as a batting group – how to play cricket safely while looking for fours.

“But with the ball we were brilliant in all three games. We don’t talk so much in the middle. As opening batsmen, you give each other a few balls; and if the wicket is good, then both openers must leave.
Rahul said the addition of versatile Jason Holder has strengthened the team.
“We have that extra hitter with the arrival of Jason. So the plan is to put pressure on the opposition. This is the body language we want to wear. Go out there and not just hit the limits and the sixes, but pick some smart shots.
“If we lose wickets early, we need to quickly assess the situation and see what the target should be. Quinton (de Kock) and (Evin) Lewis wanted to put pressure on Washington (Sundar), but it didn’t work.
On Hooda, the captain said, “I’ve been playing with Hooda for 3-4 seasons. It does not come out of the nets. You don’t really need to net that much when you hit that well, but he never comes out of the net.
“He had to wait for his chance. He uses it and now becomes someone you can count on in the middle.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson said his side would ‘reflect on the small margins’ and consider the positives of the exit, which was comparatively better than their heavy loss to Rajasthan Royals.
“Much better performance since the last outing. Our power play bowling was good with three wickets,” Williamson said, as LSG were shocked at 27 for three after opting to play first.
He added, “If only we could break the next partnership, but thanks to Deepak Hooda and KL Rahul. That was the difference to get them to 170. There were glimpses where we got into position to cross the line with the bat, but it wasn’t good enough.
“It was a good surface. We knew if we could get some good partnerships, there was enough power in the shack. We will reflect on the small margins and look at the positives. I think the guys with the bowling roles were good. Some key deaths from us too.
It was SRH’s second loss on the trot.
“A few ones and a few twos and the hunt would have taken a different form. It’s a game with small margins, but we don’t want to go overboard and (will try) to go back to those good times.
