Some skillfully rendered new crossover fan art perfectly depicts Henry Cavill as Captain Britain of the Marvel Cinematic Universes.
Posted by digital artist Subi Ozil on Instagram, the image shows Cavill dressed as Captain Britain and wielding the Sword of Might, also known as Excalibur. It has long been rumored that Cavill will be joining the MCU, with many fans expressing their desire to see him play heroes like Captain Britain, Hyperion, or Wonder Man. While Cavill is no stranger to the superhero genre, we haven’t yet heard of him participating in a Marvel project.
Cavill is perhaps best known for playing Superman in 2013 Steel man2016 Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice2017 Justice League and 2021 Zack Snyder’s Justice League. While many fans would be thrilled to see him join the MCU, industry insiders have no doubt that Cavill will return as Superman in future DC projects. Twitter insider @AjepArts recently said: ‘Many scoopers think 100% Henry is back, the dm I got said ‘[Cavill’s] return[.]“This friend who told me this I trust very much and has ALWAYS been skeptical of Cavill and Affleck coming back. They now believe in the idea of [Cavill’s] back.” The insider added that “the tides are changing” at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Amid all these rumors, Cavill maintained a busy schedule by working on other projects. Although not officially confirmed by the streaming service, it was recently reported that Netflix has greenlit seasons 4 and 5 of the witcher, which will be filmed next. Season 3 of the witcherwho will adapt Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel The time of contempt, filming recently completed. Additionally, Cavill will also reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes from the Netflix original film. Enola Holmes 2.
Along with joining (or joining) several superhero franchises, Cavill is also widely rumored to play the next James Bond. Cavill is now believed to be leading bookmakers’ odds on who will play 007 in the next James Bond film, overtaking fellow Netflix star Regé-Jean Page. Cavill has an implied probability of 27.26% of playing the iconic character, while Page has an implied probability of 18.73%. Actors Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and James Norton join them in the top five most likely to play Bond.
Cavill can then be seen in Enola Holmes 2premiering on Netflix November 4.
