Marvel Star Anthony Mackie Listens To Tupac To Prepare For Captain America 4

Marvel actor Anthony Mackie will listen to Tupac in preparation for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America 4. Speaking to Variety while attending the 2022 Grammy Awards, Mackie revealed that he chooses a specific song for each character he plays. He’ll use a particular Tupac lead to get back into the mindset of MCU hero Sam Wilson.

“Music is part of my life. For each role I play, I choose a song to represent that character, and I choose an artwork to represent that character. So music has always been kind of the defining factor in my life and career.

When asked what song he would listen to when he dressed in Captain America’s red, white and blue for the upcoming sequel, Mackie revealed that it would be a track by rap legend Tupac Shakur.

“I can’t say it on camera, but it’s a Tupac song. And it starts with ‘First of all, dot dot dot dot dot dot…'”

While Mackie plays coy when it comes to the song’s name, our elite team of investigators let us know it’s likely the actor will be screaming Tupac Shakur’s 1996 hit single “Hit ‘Em Up” when he’ll slip backstage and brandish the iconic shield. A diss song featuring the Outlawz, the song is aimed at East Coast rappers, specifically Notorious BIG, and while it’s highly unlikely to include any hints as to the direction of Captain America 4it’s certainly interesting to know what state of mind Anthony Mackie will be in when he returns to superhero duty.

Marvel’s Disney+ series finale, The Falcon and the Winter Soldiersaw Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon emerge as the new Captain America. Sporting his own version of the costume, as well as The Falcon’s wings and Cap’s shield, the character follows in the footsteps of his comic book counterpart, who also takes over as Captain America after the retirement of Steve Rogers. .

The details of Captain America 4 remains a mystery for now, but Marvel producer Nate Moore has since given some insight into where the film will find Wilson, comparing the new Captain America to legendary underdog Rocky Balboa.

“I think he’s not Steve Rogers and I think that’s a good thing,” Moore explained. “Because to me, this new Cap is Rocky. He’s going to be the underdog in any situation. A hundred years. He doesn’t have the Avengers. What’s up with this guy who publicly announces, without support, “I’m the new Captain America. What happens next? I think it’s fascinating because he’s a guy. He’s a guy with wings and a shield, but that’s is a guy.

Captain America 4 does not yet have a release date.
