Mayor McFarland recognizes MPD Officer Jaydin Davis and Captain David Bricker of the MFRD with the STARS award

Murfreesboro Police Department Officer Jaydin Davis and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department Captain David Bricker were honored on April 21, 2022 with STARS awards. Bricker and Davis demonstrated exemplary service by going above and beyond to help an elderly lady in need.

Mayor Shane McFarland paid tribute to the two city employees before the regular meeting of city council.

The following description of City employees Shandreah Womack and Clay Malone nominated employees for the STARS award:

“An elderly lady called 9-1-1 to report that her water was not working. Turns out her water bill was due, she couldn’t pay it, and the water was turned off. Captain David Bricker of the MFRD and MPD officer Jaydin Davis both donated money to buy him water, food and snacks. She was very grateful. These gentlemen went above and beyond to help this elderly lady.

Officer Davis was hired as an officer on December 13, 2021. Davis is currently at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) as a freshman.

Captain Bricker was hired in 2003. He was promoted to Engineer in December 2011 and Captain in November 2018. Captain Bricker is currently the captain at Station 5 on Team C.

STARS stands for “Succeeding Through Attitudes That Reflect Service Excellence.” These are examples of positive representation of the City, exhibition of core values ​​and creation of a better quality of life for citizens.

The STARS Service Excellence Program is designed to recognize outstanding employees who embody the City’s standards of service excellence and exemplify the City’s core service values. The purpose of the STARS award is to recognize and reward employees who go above and beyond their normal duties by providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Congratulations to Officer MPD Davis and Captain Bricker of the Murfreesboro Fire Department on being named the March 2022 STARS Award recipients for Outstanding Performance.
