MIBR part ways with CS:GO captain Chelo

CS: GO Rifleman and game leader Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes left MIBR today after a 19-month stint with the Immortals-owned organization.

Chelo’s departure comes days after Imperial reportedly agreed to pay a $200,000 MIBR buyout for the Brazilian rifleman. Now that the 24-year-old has already bid farewell to MIBR, his move to Imperial is expected to be announced in the coming days. He would replace the fnx veteran after a string of disappointing results over the past two months.

During his long stint at MIBR, Chelo helped the Brazilian team qualify for the PGL Antwerp Major, the first Valve-sponsored event of the year. The team, however, bombed in the first leg of the competition and the organization parted ways with their former captain Adriano “WOOD7” Cerato and promoted Chelo to the role.

Chelo had only a few months to gain experience as a dedicated shooter and failed to lead the MIBR to great results. If the move to Imperial goes through, he is expected to step back and play as a dedicated rifleman as the team already have a captain in the form of FalleN.

MIBR has yet to announce who will replace chelo, although the Brazilian team recently trained with former GODSENT AWPer HEN1 and the deal should be finalized soon, according to a report from Dust 2 Brasil.
