THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Sari van Veenendaal, goalkeeper and captain of the defending champions Netherlands, has been ruled out for the remainder of the European Women’s Championship after injuring her shoulder during of his team’s 1-1 draw against Sweden in their Group C opener.
Van Veenendaal will return to the Netherlands on Monday and will be replaced by Feyenoord goalkeeper Jacintha Weimar, the Dutch football association has announced.
