Nicolas Cage says he “would like to play Captain Nemo by Jules Verne”.
The ‘Moonstruck’ star admitted wanting to play the role – based on the book of the same name – “because of the character’s love of the ocean”.
The 58-year-old actor said in a Reddit Ask Me Anything on Saturday (09.04.22): “I would love to play Captain Nemo by Jules Verne because of the character’s love for the ocean, I share that with him. “, or if any quotes from the movie that people yell at him in public annoy him “I have no problem with any of the quotes, I’m glad they remember the movie.”
Also in the forum chat, Nicholas called his “Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” co-star Pedro Pascal “a really nice man” and said how much he enjoyed working with him.
He said: “First and foremost, Pedro Pascal is a really nice man. You couldn’t ask for a nicer, nicer person to work with. Secondly, he has a very unique sense of humor. It’s the kind of sense of humor where I don’t know if he’s really joking or not joking Like a comment about a cabbage appearing in a field of And that made me wonder if he was a method actor and was in character and adding some kind of confusing dimension in the role of Javi, or if he genuinely thought Cabbage was fun. I’m still baffled by that. I mean who’s making a cabbage joke but him? It’s just not funny!”
The ‘Knowing’ star also shared that he was up for a ‘Face/Off 2’, writing, “Yes |.
Nicolas also shared how much he enjoyed working on “Pig” because he was “quiet” and “naturalistic.”
He said: “Thank you. I was interested in returning to a more calm and naturalistic cinematic style of performance, having done a series of more lyrical performance styles. The film is more like a folk song to me or a poem , and Rob’s character was dealing with tremendous grief and self-imposed isolation and I think we as a group of people facing a pandemic in 2020-21 probably also have similar feelings of loss and isolation and it communicated a nerve that we were all experiencing. It’s one of my favorite movies, and it’s probably my best work.”
