• Naseem Shah’s exhibition was extraordinary, says Babar.
• Bowler’s exposure made the game extreme and fascinating.
• We were down 10 to 15 points, said Babar Azam.
Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam missed pacemaker Shaheen Shah Afridi in the T20 game against India on Sunday.
Group Green, after a nail-biting game, lost to India by five wickets in their initial Asian Cup 2022 challenge. Tragically, star point guard Shaheen Shah Afridi is no longer part of the crew from the T20 for the Asian Cup 2022 due to a physical problem.
Afridi’s absence is a significant difficulty for the team, as the running back’s extraordinary display helped Pakistan secure a triumph over India in the T20 World Cup a year ago.
During the post-match show service, captain Babar Azam also felt the lack of Shaheen Shah Afridi on the pitch and said, “Naseem Shah’s display was extraordinary, but we missed Shaheen Shah’s presence. Afridi.”
Babar Azam further said that Naseem’s presentation made the last part of the game intense for the opposing team and intriguing, in any case, “we were 10-15 points down”.
The next group match for Pakistan is against qualifying team Hong Kong. Pakistan must win this match to qualify for the 2022 Asian Cup Super Four Rounds.
