Organizers of the #FixTheCountry movement, led by Barker-Vormawor, had informed police of the planned three-day street protests starting June 4, but informed police of the intention to carry arms for protection.
They also planned to picket police headquarters in Accra and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, as well as speak directly to the nation on GTV to air their grievances. The protests were aimed at pressuring the government to check allegations of rampant corruption and economic mismanagement.

On Wednesday, June 1, police said they filed a petition with the Accra High Court to stop organizers from going ahead with the protest.
Police on Friday June 3, 2022 announced in a statement that the court had granted restraint to prevent the protests from taking place.
“The organizers, represented by Benjamin Darko, have been duly served with the request for an opinion whose request was heard today, June 3, 2022, at the Tribunal correctionnel de grande instance ‘4’.
“After hearing the request, the court issued an order restraining the organizers, their agents, assigns and anyone claiming through them from engaging in the armed protest as planned.
“We would like to assure the public that the police department will not be an obstacle to the exercise of its right to protest by individuals or groups, as long as it is done within the limits of the laws of the land,” parts of the statement read.
