KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) has launched an investigation to identify the bus captain involved in an incident following a viral tweet.
Bus service operator Rapid KL said Twitter user @azlanalanlan posted a picture of a man waiting for the bus at an empty bus stop.
The tweet claimed the passenger ran after a bus but was kicked out because the vehicle door was closed by the bus captain at Jalan Klang Lama at around 3.10pm on Saturday April 9.
“We take claims about the alleged incident seriously as it involves ethics and responsibility as an employee of Rapid Bus.
“If found guilty, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken,” Rapid Bus said in a statement Sunday, April 10.
Rapid Bus said a preliminary investigation of the bus’s black box indicated the vehicle had stopped at the bus stop.
He said he would review the closed circuit recording and interview the bus captain.
“Rapid Bus apologizes and assures that appropriate follow-up action will be taken to ensure such an incident does not happen again,” he said.
He also called on any witnesses to the incident or anyone with related information to contact the Rapid KL helpline on 03-7885 2585 to help with the investigation. – Bernama
