Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid missing; Former England captain Alastair Cook picks his all-time eleven

London: Considered one of the greatest in test cricket, former England captain Alastair Cook has revealed his all-time eleven. What would surprise fans is the fact that no Indian makes it to Cook’s XI. Cook also did not choose a cricketer who is still playing. This could be one of the reasons Kohli and Dhoni can’t find a place in his XI despite being greats. But if so, why are Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar missing?

Cook named former England mainstay Graham Gooch as the team’s captain. His team includes former Australian opener Matthew Hayden. Cook chose a starred intermediate order with Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, AB de Villiers and Kumar Sangakkara. “I would pay a lot of money to watch this mid-order bat,” Cook said.

Although Anil Kumble was not on Cook’s list, the two spinners he opted for are Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. James Anderson, Glenn McGrath are the two leaders he has chosen at his side. Kallis would obviously be the third crimper.

“None of them need to explain, really, the absolute weapons of the players,” Cook said of that dream bowling attack.

You have to admit that it’s a pretty solid team.
