After four tense issues and many questions, Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, will face off against T’Challa, aka Black Panther, in the September issue of Captain America: Symbol of Truth. And it’s been a bloody fight from the start.

Captain America: Symbol of Truth, written by Tochi Onyebuchi, illustrated by RB Silva, colored by Jesus Aburtov, and written by Joe Caramagna, followed Sam as he attempted to find the root of a vibranium smuggling ring. The material is fundamental to Wakanda’s economy, and it’s also an important part of Captain America’s story as his shield is made from this material.
Throughout the series, the villainous White Wolf and his ally Crossbones have continued to plot, and in issue #5 readers will see it all come to a head. Sam eventually made it to Wakanda himself, and Black Panther isn’t happy about it.
A preview of the issue shows Sam and T’Challa fighting, with Sam wondering if it’s a fair battle given that T’Challa is wearing his Panther costume and doesn’t even have his shield. It also recalls a line that MCU fans are sure to recognize, although another Captain America has spoken the words on the big screen.
