An SBS Transit bus captain gave his personal umbrella so a passenger on his bus wouldn’t get caught in the rain.
The bus captain has great service
The passenger, Jarren Low, said Mothership that the incident happened on February 25.
From the start, the captain of the bus was very pleasant.
Low said he boarded the 168 service from Woodlands Interchange at 7.45am and asked the bus captain if the bus service would go to Tampines West MRT station.
In response, the bus captain offered to call Low back when the bus reached the Tampines West MRT station.
Personal umbrella given
Before Low got off the bus, the bus captain waved him through.
The bus captain then passed Low his personal umbrella.
Low said the bus captain then told him to take shelter with the umbrella so he wouldn’t get caught in the rain on his way to the MRT station, which was across the street. .
The bus captain added that Low didn’t need to return the umbrella.
Low said the kindness and thoughtfulness of the bus captain saved him from getting drenched in the rain.
A commuter returned his umbrella and wrote to the company congratulating the bus captain
Low praised the bus captain for his “great service” and added that he often told students to have a good day and wished them all the best at school.
The bus captain was also “extremely friendly” with commuters, Low said.
Weak says Mothership he waited at Woodlands Interchange to return the bus captain’s umbrella and thank him personally.
He also wrote to SBS Transit to compliment the services of the bus captain.
