Atlanta 96 Olympic Gold Medalist Dream Team member Kingsley Obiekwu who recently disclosed his financial struggles has received a N2 million donation from Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa.

Kingsley had faced economic difficulties, forcing him to become a commercial carrier plying between Enugu and Awka.

Musa’s move was established to follow media reports of the Delta-born versatile defender’s dwindling fortunes.

The former player who played for Rangers International FC, Enugu and Udoji United at the time, says he got into transport to support his family.

Kingsley attributed his difficulties to debts owed to him by several clubs, including Senator Ifeanyi Uba, owner of FC Ifeanyi Uba.

He also revealed that the promises made to Dream Team players by Delta and Niger states have yet to be fulfilled.

In an interview with NAN, he said his former employees owed him over N6 million in total.

Although Kingsley now coaches INGAS FC, Enugu, he has to combine coaching work with the commercial transport business to make ends meet.

“Yes, I’m a commercial carrier, there’s nothing to hide. The man must do what is legal to pay his family’s bills.

“I have four children at Enugu State University of Technology and my last child is in fifth grade,” he said.
