Vintage David Miller and Captain Hardik Pandya inspired Gujarat Titans to reach IPL 2022 Final in their debut season with a 7 wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Pandya and Miller shared an unbeaten 106 run position for the fourth wicket to help Gujarat chase the 189 run target with 3 balls to spare. Pandya went 40 unbeaten on 27 balls as his innings were interleaved five fours.

Gujarat needed 16 runs in the final and Miller activated his “killer mode” to get the job done. The southpaw finished the game in the first three balls by smashing three back-to-back sixes.
Chasing a terrific target of 189, the Gujarat Titans lost in-form opener Wriddhiman Saha on the second ball as Trent Boult managed to gain batting advantage from the batter to return it on a duck. Mattew Wade came out at bat at number 3 as he joined Shubman Gill to help Gujarat recover from the first hit. The duo shared a 72-run stand for the second wicket to give their team the edge. However, a horrific miscommunication between the two led to Gill’s exit on the 35th. Wade also joined him in the pavilion shortly after being caught by Buttler near the boundary line during Obed’s delivery McCoy.
Pandya and Miller revived the chase after double jerks and helped Gujarat reach the final in their debut season. Interestingly, the final will be Gujarat’s first match at their home stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium.

It was an unforgettable evening for the duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal who remained without a box office. While Boult and McCoy shared one wicket each.
Earlier, on the strength of his luck, Buttler returned to form and shot 89 points to help Rajasthan post a 188-for-6 challenge against a high-quality Titans bowling attack. Buttler struggled miserably against the spinners but he completely overpowered the pacers with his searing shots. The current Orange Cap holder was also lucky on his side as the Titans outfielders failed to grab his hold three times.
First, it was skipper Sanju Samson’s bluster that was in the spotlight as the Royals skipper, seemingly hurt by the latest snub from the selections, responded in style with a 47-26 ball (5 ×4, 3×6).
It was not the best of days for Gujarat bowlers as apart from Rashid Khan (0/15 in 4 overs) and Hardik Pandya (2/14 in 2 overs) all fled with save rate above 10.
The IPL 2022 final will be played on May 29 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
