Babar breaks Inzamam’s record as Pakistan captain

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has claimed another record after scoring a century in the second T20I against England here at the National Stadium in Karachi.

With the help of 11 fours and five sixes, Babar reached his second century T20I and became the first Pakistani batter to do so.

The 27-year-old was named captain of Pakistan at the end of 2019 and since then has hit ten centuries as a skipper.

He reached his second century T20I in the 77th inning as it is his 26th century in international cricket.

The right-handed hitter surpassed Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record of most centuries as Pakistan captain. Inzamam had scored nine centuries while Babar had scored 10.

Babar reached the tenth century in just his 76th innings as captain, while Inzamam had scored as many in 131 innings.
