TOM Abell has been named an ambassador for the national children’s charity Brainwave.
The Somerset Cricket captain recently visited Brainwave’s therapy center in Bridgwater and it was there that he pledged to help them raise awareness and take on this important role.
Tom said: “I had the immense privilege of visiting Brainwave and seeing firsthand the incredible impact their incredible staff have on young people with disabilities and additional needs”.
“Everyone connected to Brainwave is so passionate, caring and dedicated in supporting these children and their families, it was eye-opening to see how they change the lives of families who visit Brainwave!”
Brainwave CEO Keith Sinclair said, “Having Tom’s support is fantastic and we look forward to working with him to help share all of our news. We have an incredible team of therapists here and have the ability to help even more children reach their potential.
“We are very much counting on the help of our supporters to spread the news so that more families can access our services and we are delighted to have Tom on board.”
Brainwave supports children with a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delay, sensory processing difficulties, and Down syndrome, and wants to reach more families who would benefit from their support.
The charity also supports children without official diagnoses and can help families access their services through a means-tested fund.
Brainwave believes in a world where every child with a disability fulfills their potential. Their multidisciplinary team of therapists take the time to fully assess each child and their family’s needs in the relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere of their fully equipped Brainwave Center.
They develop a structured and tailored therapy program that integrates into family life and helps children achieve greater independence. With your support, they can help more families find the guidance and support they seek.
