Here are our top tips for Fantasy Premier League GW27.
After a brilliant week of doubles last time out which saw many fantastic players rewarded for treble captain Mohamed Salah, we are back with Southampton and Norwich City kicking off GW27 tonight.
Leeds United face yet another top six club tomorrow lunchtime as they look to recover from their humiliating 6-0 loss to Liverpool, while Manchester City take on Everton in the hope of avoiding further narrowing the gap between the two. Reds and themselves.
There are also a number of high-scoring players absent from the Premier League this weekend due to the Carabao Cup final – so you better consider who you can replace them with.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help.
Captain
Bruno Fernandes
In recent seasons, Bruno Fernandes was a staple in most teams, but he has been poor for part of the current campaign.
The Portugal international has now scored in back-to-back league appearances for the first time this season and also claimed an assist in their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid in midweek.
Fernandes appears to be back in top form and will be ready to show it as the Red Devils welcome 19th-placed Watford.
Wout Weghorst
If you haven’t added Wout Weghorst to your starting lineup yet, you should probably do so now.
The striker has impressed since joining Burnley last month and the Clarets now appear to be enjoying an improvement in their form.
Weghorst has one goal and two assists from five league appearances and, with a double matchweek ahead for Sean Dyche’s side, could guarantee points for your side.
Burnley’s two opponents – Crystal Palace and Leicester – have been particularly inconsistent this season and could struggle to contain the Dutchman up front.
Rahim Sterling
Manchester City will be determined to impress against Everton this weekend following their loss to Tottenham Hotspur, and Raheem Sterling could play an important role.
The winger netted a hat-trick against Norwich City and also scored in their 5-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.
If Sterling starts, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him on the scoresheet.
Likewise, Riyad Mahrez is also a good choice.
Transfers in
Ben Mee/James Tarkowski
With Burnley’s improving form and impressive defensive record, either of these defenders would be a good addition.
The Clarets have won back-to-back wins over Brighton and Tottenham over the past week and have conceded just two goals in their last six matches.
With Burnley set to take on Crystal Palace this weekend, it wouldn’t be surprising if they managed a third clean sheet in a row.
Anthony Elanga
Anthony Elanga has been one of Manchester United’s best performers in recent weeks and has scored in his last two appearances in all competitions.
The Swede is probably one of the first names on the squad sheet at the minute and will be eager to add to his goalscoring tally against Watford.
James Ward-Prowse
Southampton are enjoying a positive run by the minute and are unbeaten in their last four matches – picking up wins over Everton, Manchester United and Spurs and holding Man City to a draw.
With Saints set to face Norwich City this weekend, it would be surprising if they failed to score a few goals against the Canaries.
James Ward-Prowse has been on fire this season and you’d definitely like your chances if Southampton can get a free-kick from the edge of the box.
The midfielder has scored six goals and assisted four more in the league this season.
Outgoing transfers
Chelsea v Liverpool
There are a number of players you shouldn’t forget to remove from your fantasy squad this week due to the Carabao Cup final.
Chelsea are set to take on Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, which means neither side will be in the Premier League until next weekend.
This means you’ll want to knock out players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Silva, Mohamed Salah, and more.
Allan Saint-Maximin
Allan Saint-Maximin was absent from Newcastle United’s draw with West Ham with a calf injury last time out.
The striker received treatment at Monaco this week and Eddie Howe admitted his inclusion for tomorrow’s trip to Brentford would be a ‘late call’.
He also claimed he wouldn’t rush him into the starting lineup if he wasn’t fully fit.
Although you may want to risk the Frenchman in your squad, it may be safer to bring him in for the next game against Brighton.
