SDCC had a lot of exciting announcements from Marvel Studios this year, including the tantalizing title of the fourth Captain America movie, Captain America: New World Order. With a title like this, the global challenges for our new Capt Sam Wilson are sure to be monumental.
Join Anthony Mackywe have the return of Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley after his much-loved role in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We have tastes of Tim Blake Nelson returning as Dr. Samuel Stern aka The Leader of The Incredible Hulk and the implications for what may happen in this movie because of it. And now we have nothing but Harrison Ford steps in to replace the late Guillaume Blessé as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. With all that, and I’m told a “HUGE budget”, New world order is becoming an incredibly epic blockbuster movie.
Those Captain America: New World Order updates…
But you’re probably here for my updates, according to the title of the article. The new news, isn’t it? OK. So first, let’s eliminate the production company. I can confirm through my sources that Captain America: New World Order uses production company Changeup Productions LLC. This is a change from the previous one Chris Evans-LEDs Captain America movies that used Vita Ray Productions, a nod to science that helped transform Steve Rogers from “small but mighty Steve” to “Whoa mom, who is that?! Steve.” What? the two Steves.
It’s an expected change that Sam Wilson’s Cap movies would have a different production company, due to the previous company’s connection to Steve Rogers’ origin story with Vita Ray. It’s also a welcome change, as it more likely means this is really a departure from Steve Rogers Cap. Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% Team Cap, I’m going to miss him terribly, but it’s Sam’s movie and Sam’s Captain America now. So it’s good to see that they are also making the change in the production company.
I can’t currently confirm the working title for this one, but no doubt someone will soon enough. Filming of New world order, at least a few weeks ago I was told that it should start in Georgia from the middle of March to the end of March. I’ve had filming start date changes on me before, and it’s possible this one could change again, but hopefully everything will start and end on time.
I had heard before that there might be some sort of crossover with Blade and New world order. But unfortunately, Blade is currently not expected to start until next summer, after yet another unfortunate setback for this production. Considering the Blade the film is undergoing major rewrites, this crossover plan could certainly have changed.
As for the legendary Harrison Ford intervening as General Ross. Here’s a little tidbit I heard recently. Apparently Ross will no longer be Secretary of State and will be a private citizen. No doubt he will still have his military and other powerful connections, and plans for his own “new world order” in the works. It will be interesting to see if any relationship he has with by Tim Blake Nelson Leader, and whether they work together or on opposite sides.
By the way, if we don’t get Harrison Ford like Red Hulk telling someone to “get off my plane” ala Air Force One, before sending them to the kingdom, I feel like it’s a wasted opportunity, Marvel. Take note.
And that’s all I can share about Captain America 4 for the moment…
Captain America: New World Order should be led by Jules Onahwith Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman write the screenplay. It’s currently slated for release on May 3, 2024, which is a great time for the major summer blockbuster I expect.
