Prior to his iconic turn as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans starred as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch. According to Evans, he wouldn’t mind returning to the role if asked.

Speaking to MTV News, Evans was asked about his former role in 2005 The Fantastic Four and the 2007 sequel film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The actor said he was never offered to reprise the role.
“My God, wouldn’t that be great?” Nobody ever came to me about it,” Evans said. “I mean, I don’t look exactly like myself anymore. It was 15 years ago, almost 20 years ago. But I really like this character. But I think… aren’t they doing something now with The Fantastic Four?”

Evans was then asked about the possibility of returning to the role thanks to the introduction of things like the Multiverses into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Evans acknowledged that all bets are off when it comes to this stuff, but that he thinks it would be an easier idea to return as The Human Torch than Captain America.
“[I guess] all bets are off. Listen, I would love that,” Evans said. “I would love that. It would actually be an easier sell for me than coming back as Cap. Cap is so precious to me. [I] I almost don’t want to disturb what a great experience it was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he hasn’t really had his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and who knows.
