SANDY, Utah — Sandy Fire Captain Clinton McKee was arrested on Thursday for child pornography after an investigation into a tip given to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to court documents, McKee, 44, admitted to using and distributing child pornography and searching for terms “like adolescent and voyeur” when searching for child pornography. Additionally, McKee said he had hidden cameras at a home business where his wife offers tanning services to clients, including teenage girls.

McKee said he hid the cameras where the teenage girls stripped. “He said teenage girls were being filmed naked,” according to court documents.

A search warrant was made at the home and police located these digital files.

McKee will be incarcerated in the Salt Lake County Jail for seven counts of exploiting a minor.

The Sandy City Police Department announced that McKee was no longer a Sandy City employee on Friday afternoon and said, “Sandy City officials were deeply disturbed to learn that the captain of the Sandy City Fire Department Sandy City, Clinton McKee, was under criminal investigation by the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Captain McKee was immediately placed on administrative leave pending an administrative investigation into the criminal conduct allegation.
