Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader Will Make MCU Return in Captain America: New World Order

While Marvel kept major reveals to a minimum at D23 Expo this weekend, the studio’s big presentation on Saturday at the Disney convention offered casting news on the 2024 sequel. Captain America: New World Order.

Confirmed to appear alongside Sam Wilson/Anthony Mackie’s Captain America in the film are Mackie’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier co-stars Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley) and Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres), the latter to serve as the new Falcon.

While these additions weren’t entirely unexpected, Marvel also announced that it will finally pay off one of the biggest teases of the early MCU as Tim Blake Nelson takes over the role of Dr. Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulkwho, when we last saw him in 2008, was beginning his transformation into criminal mastermind The Leader,

With the faces that return, the New world order the casting announcements also included a brand new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Shira Haas (Unorthodox) is set to appear as Ruth Bat-Seraph, the Israeli superhero known as Sabra.

Captain America: New World Order is directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) from a script of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film is currently slated for release on May 3, 2024.
