The long-running lawsuit between the United States Women’s National Team and the USSF has ended in a historic settlement. Thus, the question of equal pay between men’s and women’s American football is finally up in the air.
The USSF agreed to pay the women’s team $22 million, plus an additional $2 million to help with post-career goals. However, Becky Sauerbrunn wants the world to know that this triumph is not just for female football players.
A quick note on yesterday… the truth is that this work has spanned decades and generations; and not just in women’s football, but in all women’s sports. We couldn’t have done anything without the 99ers. Not without Venus, Serena and Billie Jean. Not without the @TheWNBPA and much more. https://t.co/E9KORkDecZ
